RH@H benefits from Tassie’s first Garlic &Tomato Festival
Think tomatoes? Think round, red and all the same? Or garlic? All tasteless and Mexican? Think again! When “Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes” opened the farm gate in March 2015 for Tasmania’s first Garlic & Tomato Festival visitors were met with an array of taste, colour and variety from the garlic and tomato world that they never imagined – green, orange, black, purple, red, white, red and yellow. Round, heart-shaped, pear-shaped, long, squat, fat, skinny!
They also got to find out a little about RH@H and the work it is doing. Due to the day’s inaugural success the festival committee was able to donate $1600 to RH@H. One of our wonderful volunteers, Jean, created a beautiful farm-inspired quilt to be raffled on the day.
The good news is that it’s happening again. The Tasmanian Garlic & Tomato Festival looks set to be an annual event and once again RH@H will be the beneficiary.
If you would like to support RH@H to spread the word about the needs of rural patients in cities, we’d love to hear from you. Or you can help by enjoying a day out on the farm. (For more details go to Tasmanian Garlic & Tomato Festival )
